Cordless and Blogless

Due to technical difficulties, our blogspot is temporarily out of order. (Our power cord is broken and we sent in for a new one but the computer is out of batteries for home based blogging, and my boss won't just let me blog and surf myspace all day(although the receptionist does)). So, we're sentenced to using the internet only when we head over to BYU. And then our time is pretty much occupied with checking everyone's new postings. Keep 'em comin'!

Las Vegas Baby Shower

While we were down in Vegas last weekend my friend Diana had a baby shower for me. It was nice and relaxing with good food and visiting. A perfect combination! Our good neighbor, Keri, let us have it at her house and it worked out great. Thank you so much Diana for all of your work and effort in putting that together for me. I appreciate it so much! You're just great! Thank you to everyone for your generosity and thoughtfulness. This really is the first of things I have started to gather for the arrival of our little guy so it was exciting and so fun to get all of these cute and useful things!

GO RUNNERS!!

We just wanted to send a shot out to all our family that will be taking on the Provo River 1/2 Marathon this weekend. You guys are awesome! We love you and although we can't be there to cheer you on or do it with you, we'll be rooting our hearts out for you come Saturday morning. (Just in a different state)

Gabby the Iguana

I was cleaning up the kitchen last Saturday when I found this lovely creature watching my every move from our window. You probably didn't realize we had such exotic creatures living around here! :) Actually, this iguana, Gabby is her name, belongs to our landlady. Tanya was out working in the yard and apparently let Gabby wander around. Gabby really is the strangest creature becuase instead of enjoying the time outdoors or even contemplating escape she almost immediately heads toward a door or window of the house to get back in. Tanya said she has even found Gabby trying to go through the cat door. Anyways, luckily we have a screen on the window otherwise I would have had an extra visitor helping me in the kitchen.

Tonight we went to our first Prenatal class over at the Utah Valley Hospital. I'll admit, I was both nervous and excited. I was excited because we would be able to learn some good things but I was also nervous because we would be able to learn some good things. I know "knowledge is power"....but sometimes "ignorance is bliss" is a good idea to follow too. However, despite my fears, the class was really enjoyable and a good step in helping me prepare for this baby. One other plus is that we were assigned "homework" that includes Chris giving me a back massage every night. Nice!

Afterwards, we topped off the night with some delicious ice cream. We had the chance to pick some blackberries at the home of one of our Stake Presidency member's house Saturday evening. I am pretty sure picking berries, other than strawberries, was a first for both Chris and I. I think we both got stuck real good by a thorn and said "ow!" within seconds of starting to pick them. Anyways, we used these blackberries and some vanilla ice cream to make some delicious treats. I opted for a milk shake, but Chris decided to try his own version of Coldstone ice cream. I'll admit the pictures we took don't do it justice. It was delicious!

Prophets

So, Sunday we headed up to Layton for FHE. Deanne had a great lesson about prophets being the watchmen on the tower. It reminded me of how much I appreciate the warnings that they give. I wonder sometimes how long it would take me to learn some of the things they teach us if it wasn't spelled out for me. You'll see our picture of my nephew Marcus holding the poster of President Hinckley and President Monson. It's great to spend time with the family and the bananna splits afterwards were an added bonus.
