Sleeping

The other day I went in to check Grant to see if he had fallen asleep and this is what I found.

I moved the blanket down (I was paranoid that he wouldn't be able to breathe) and went back maybe a half hour later and found this.

Funny boy. But as cute as he was it did cause concern for a poor paranoid mother who quickly moved the blanket down yet again. Here is another picture with a finger instead of a blanket for comfort. And plenty of air to breathe.

2nd Cousins

I got together with my cousins, Tina and Annie and their kids about a week ago. Annie had baby Natalie only a few days before. Here are some pictures of the group of us. By the way, Natalie is my Grandma and Grandpa Thorley's 5th great-grandchild with 2 more on the way. The family just keeps growing. I think we are definitley going to need some more bungalo cabins and fast!

Jen & Grant, Tina & Carson & Allison, Annie & Ryan & and new baby Natalie

Grant and Carson are only 4 days a part and are obviously good friends already. :)

Especially for the Grandmas

Here is a little update on the G-baby through some pictures and video. (I tried the "dark" videos and they still played for me so hopefully, they will work for you.)
He will be 5 months on Saturday. 5 MONTHS! How the time flies.

Grant and his new toy. Thank you for letting us borrow this Suz and Adam! The Bunkers called this a "mini Disneyland" for babies. And it really is. It's almost a sensory overload for Grant. He likes to be able to stand up a little in it and wishes he could put more of it in his mouth.

Flexy Boy! Grant is concentrating on those toes he has a hold of. I am sure he is wondering what they taste like. He hasn't gotten them to his mouth on his own yet. I'm sure they'll eventually make it there.

Chubby Smile! A picture of Grant smiling! Our camera has treated us well, but it has a pretty good delay on taking the pictures. It has made it so tricky trying to get a picture of Grant smiling. He immediately goes into "deer in the headlight" pose as soon as he see's the camera. We were able to get this before he knew what we were doing.

Grant has started making some new sounds the last couple weeks. It makes me laugh to hear him.

Trying something new to eat.

A Post that was never posted

So here is a Post that I wrote almost a month ago...Good Grief....but never posted. I was just going to delete it, but it still has relevant information and some cute pictures of Grant.

~ We moved! We are now residents of Orem, Utah instead of good ol' Provo. Chris's sister, Stephanie, got a new job up north and moved to Layton. She offered to rent her place here in Orem to us and it was too good of a deal to pass up. Thanks Steph! We love you! We're still not quite settled in yet, but this place is great. There is a room for Grant and lots of wonderful closet space. I'll post some pictures some day in the future when things are a little more put together.
~ Chris spends the majority of his time going to school and learning how to be a pro Ice Hockey player. :) Well , actually that's just one of his classes. He has a bunch of others that take up most of his time as well. He has some other projects he is working on and is always good to help out and spend time with Grant.
~ I spend most of my time at home with the G-baby. He definitely keeps me busy but it's mostly the good times so I don't mind. You'll see from the pictures that he is getting pretty big and not really the newborn anymore. I am also working part-time from home a few hours a week for my old job at Power-Glide. It has been nice to have something like that that I can do from home.

So that's the quick update with us. Here are a few pictures of our growing boy.

(If you click to enlarge this picture you will see that his face really is covered with slobber.)

Chinese Techno Music

Brooke and Barb, I don't know how often you check my blog, especially considering my track record of never posting anything, but this blog is for you guys!

When I was in China with these 2 girls we decided to try working out on days that were too cold or rainy to Chinese techno music. It works great because it has that lovely constant beat the whole time. I don't know that I could really listen to this music any other time. Anways, I have revived the Chinese techno workout and I am going on 3 days of successful increased heart rate! Good times! I don't know why I didn't think of doing this sooner during the winter months. I just put Grant in his swing and he watches his crazy mom move around to even crazier music. It isn't really anything too fancy since I'm making it up as I go. Basically, it's just like a step/kickboxing routine without a step or really much kickboxing. :) But it does get my heart rate up and wears me out pretty good.

Maybe I'll start adding Tai Chi in for my cool down. I've got the outfit, so there is a good chance I could look as cool as these guys. :)

Just Believe in Yourself!

So my mom takes my little brother, Stone, to the Library every Wednesday for Storytime and to pick out new books. (Stone's only 4 and can already read like a champion.) Anyways a few weeks ago they were there at the library and my mom was trying to get Stone to help her pick out a few new books. Now as much as Stone loves books and reading he loves playing with other kids even more. He loves to spend his time "visiting" and playing with the other kids and he is a SUPER friendly little guy. :) So this time my mom was trying to get him to come help her get his books and he says to her, "Oh, you can do it. Just believe in yourself." She got a good kick out of that and went ahead and picked the books for him.

I thought it was a pretty funny story and wanted to share it. But I was also thinking about this a few nights ago when I couldn't fall asleep. (I like to write blogs when I have trouble falling asleep. Do you like how I never actually post any of these blogs?) Anyways, I was thinking that maybe I need to listen to Stone's wisdom and believe in myself a little more. I mean, I think I am capable of doing things but the problem is that I think and typically do not act. My belief in myself usually ends with the belief part and I need to be better and "going and doing." So this week I am Believing in Myself! I am setting some goals and I am going to accomplish them!

So everyone, you can pick out library books all by yourself too, if you just believe in yourself.
